Northeast Ohio Tornado Update

What a wonderful week to observe God’s Power and Grace in ACTION! He on Tuesday allowed Northeast Ohio to be hit by tornado touchdowns. The winds created great havoc among trees and plants as they broke & fell. Power and communication lines were destroyed.

But even with all the destruction, God’s grace of love and helpfulness continued…Porter Public was open with power that helped many to find coolness and a place to obtain e-mails and charge phones.  The staff at Pizza By Robert at 30634 Detroit Road in Westlake made food bags of peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches, jelly sandwiches, with pretzels and took them to give to all the people at Westlake’s Porter Public Library so that they would have food when Pizza By Robert had no power to make and sell pizzas. Such a selfless and thoughtful gesture to assist others deserves priority news coverage.

A wonderful young women named Susan stopped at my house to assist with all the twig, branch, and leaf clean up. My Friend and Dentist Sharlene and her oldest son Elliot stopped by to remove the car tarp covering and poles that the weather had destroyed on Tuesday by ripping the tarp and pulling one pole out of the ground. So many people really thought of the elderly to offer assistance during this weather destruction emergency. This Grace and Caring Help is deeply appreciated. Send me any of your grace-filled stories too.

Hunger Warriors Driver Anthony

Hunger Warriors driver Anthony delivered 13 boxes of Bay Village Heinen’s food to Redeemer Hunger and Crisis Center on Friday. Then my friend Barb delivered vegetables from St. Paul Lutheran’s Mary’s Rescue Garden gathered by Ken and helpers along with the fantastic tomatoes from Bob and Steve’s garden along with some housewares donated by Jean and daughter Joyce.

Labor Day Weekend

Remember, September’s Labor Day Weekend begins our annual Underwear Drive to assist the clients of Redeemer Hunger & Crisis Center. Look for the underwear sales this month as schools begin to reopen for the 2024-2025 School Year to assist Eunice Langner and Anita Fjeldstad in this wonderful Drive to meet needs.

Hunger Warrior Drives and Substitute Drivers

Hunger Warrior Drivers and substitute drivers are still needed to assist with deliveries. Let Mary know if you are available (440-871-7067 or marycaresmuch@yahoo.com).
