The Underwear/Sock Drive wraps up this next week

If you do not have time to shop, feel free to donate money, and we will shop for you; simply mark the memo line Underwear. This wonderful 10th year Underwear/Sock drive wraps up the first week in December. Eunice Langner & Anita Fjeldstad, along with Mary & Chico, thank you!

Christmas Food Distribution

For the Christmas Food Distribution by Immanuel Lutheran Church’s Neighborhood Food Program, an extra dozen of most monthly items requested are needed – cans of vegetables, stew, peach slices, cereal, jars of peanut butter, Grape Jam/jelly, wide noodles, SPAM, corned beef, and chicken breasts.

Holiday Cards to Veterans & St. Paul Shut-ins

Our annual Write Holiday Cards to Veterans & St. Paul Shut-ins is now becoming a Drop-in at the Levtzows on Friday December 8 or Saturday, December 9 between noon and 3 pm. Stay for an hour or more or simply pick up cards and stickers to take home and do. Packets of Cards & Stickers will also be available that weekend on the Hunger Shelving outside the Sanctuary and the Activity Center to take home and write. The Levtzow House is 2454 Dover Center Road with driveway off Bassett Road – Southwest corner of Dover Center & Bassett Roads.

COG: Community of Goodness Updates

You are making a Vital Difference by being an active member of COG – Community of Goodness by donating SIX or more cans of vegetables, stew, SPAM, corned beef, peach slices, chicken breasts, jars of peanut butter, Grape Jam/jelly, wide noodles, cereal monthly for Immanuel Lutheran Church’s Neighborhood Food Program. This past week, donations became 1488 items – This total resulted from COG donations and the Thrivent Valor Home Action Team donations.

Reverse Advent Calanader

We have received the following Reverse Advent Calendar (click the link to download the calendar) to inspire each of us to gather food in thanksgiving for the gift of Baby Jesus and His work of Salvation.

Drivers Still Needed

SPL Hunger Warriors still needs substitute & regular drivers to drive food or other donations to Redeemer Hunger & Crisis Center, Valor Home, North Ridgeville Community Care… Call or email Mary at 440-871-7067 or to volunteer.

Upcoming SPL Hunger Warriors Thrivent Action Team Events

Right NOW through December 2:

We are gathering food items to assist Our Family Home in East Cleveland with snacks of all types.

Between December 3 and December 16:

We are having a Hunger Drive for North Ridgeville Community Care at 34015 Center Ridge Road by gathering all types of food and paper items.

Between December 17 and December 31, 2023:

The Dennis Wolf Peanut Butter & Jam Drive with a goal of 100 jars of Jam & 100 jars of Peanut Butter to benefit Redeemer Hunger & Crisis Center on West 30th Street in Cleveland will be happening.
