Do you have a passion that drives you? Well, Mary and Chico do. We work 12 to 14 hours a day to help meet the needs of others through SPL Hunger Warriors and doing kind deeds for others. When I was confirmed into the Missouri Synod Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Huntington, West Virginia, our Pastor Rev. Carl Hoffmeyer taught seven- minute older twin brother retired Rev.
John Walter Myers and myself that if we were alive with Christ as our head, we would stick-out like a sore red thumb. This alive-in-faith tip is why Mary & Chico live to share the love and joy of Christ through meeting needs. Many St. Paul Lutheran members and friends join Mary & Chico in this passionate mission.
That joy of living and serving is why the St. Paul Generosity and Service Board under Gayle Brady’s leadership is so dedicated to actively meet needs as they assist SPL Hunger Warriors. We are blessed this Christmas Season to be able to provide $300 to each program we help to buy needed foods for starting 2025 off with essentials that each center provides. We are also blessed with MANY Action Team events to help make a difference in hundreds of lives…Open your heart and mind to Jesus and His Power…The results are amazing…
This Weekend
SPL Hunger Warrior special needs are 13 SPAM, 16 cans of sliced peaches, 18 cans of Stew, 15 cans of white chicken breast, and 24 boxes of cereal for next Friday’s delivery to Immanuel Lutheran Church on Scranton Road in Cleveland.
Remember to drop off your gifts of underwear, socks, hats, gloves, mittens, snacks, peanut butter and grape jam too on the Hunger Ministry shelves or at the Levtzow’s garage (Southwest corner of Dover Center and Bassett Roads with driveway off Bassett Road).
Donate Food
St. Paul Lutheran Hunger Warriors still need Food Donations throughout the summer months; so, let us all try to bring one or two food items when we are able to attend Church this summer: peanut butter, GRAPE JAM, Stew, Corned Beef, WIDE NOODLES, tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, canned vegetables, CANNED SLICED PEACHES, CEREAL, oatmeal variety packs, SPAM, canned Chicken Breast, RAMEN NOODLES, snacks for children. We need the above food items by Thursday, June 20, for the Immanuel Hunger Program Delivery. Bless you for putting the needs of others as a priority.
