Thanksgiving Helpers
Thank you to all the wonderful helpers in completing the Thanksgiving gifts for the Madison Commons Group Home in Cleveland and the Samuel L. Felton Jr. Valor Home for men & women veterans in Lorain. We are so grateful for the service of our Veterans and the dedication of Westlake’s St. Paul Lutheran Church members and friends to these caring.
Now for our Valor Home Christmas Gifts, we gather unique coffee mugs for these veterans and put snacks in them…We will also need some Gala apples, oranges, or tangelos for their Christmas gifts…Please give as you are able.
Annual Underwear & Sock Drive
Remember, SPL Hunger Warriors Eleventh Annual Underwear and Sock Drive to help Redeemer Hunger & Crisis Center ends the first week in December.
Right now, SPL Hunger Warriors are gathering hats and gloves for the Epiphany Party.
There will be 2 special Peanut Butter and Jam Thrivent Action Team Drive event on the weekend of December 14-15 and December 21-22 for Redeemer Hunger & Crisis Center in Cleveland on W. 30th.
Packing Day
Feel free to drop off any donations to St. Paul Lutheran Church during regular business hours at 27993 Detroit Road in Westlake or drop off any time at the Levtzow’s garage (Southwest corner of Dover Center & Bassett Roads – 2454 Dover Center with driveway off Bassett).
We have learned that the special PACKING DAY for boxes for the Redeemer Epiphany Party to be held on Monday, January 6, will be FRIDAY, DECEMBER 27, IN THE CAFETERIA FROM 9 AM TO 4 PM…Plan to park outside the cafeteria and enter at the cafeteria doors.
Snack Drive
On December 7-8, SPL Hunger Warriors are having a Thrivent Action Team Snack Drive for Our Family Home in East Cleveland. In addition, plans are to have a Thrivent Action Team Food Drive to gather food for the North Ridgeville Community Care Program during the last weekend in December.
Donate Food
St. Paul Lutheran Hunger Warriors still need Food Donations throughout the summer months; so, let us all try to bring one or two food items when we are able to attend Church this summer: peanut butter, GRAPE JAM, Stew, Corned Beef, WIDE NOODLES, tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, canned vegetables, CANNED SLICED PEACHES, CEREAL, oatmeal variety packs, SPAM, canned Chicken Breast, RAMEN NOODLES, snacks for children. We need the above food items by Thursday, June 20, for the Immanuel Hunger Program Delivery. Bless you for putting the needs of others as a priority.
