A message from Mindi Axer – News Sun
“Nonprofits…rely on people who turn compassion into action. Sometimes, the greatest gift is simply showing up” according to this week’s The Sun News Commentary by Mindi Axner. That message “COMPASSION INTO ACTION” reminds each individual of the goals of SPL Hunger Warriors…We – SPL Hunger Warriors – are here to serve others by meeting their needs physically and spiritually with the heart and spirit of Jesus.
Prayers
Keep your prayers centered on Jesus using you – YES, YOU – and YOUR TALENTS to meet needs by serving others. You are the glue to getting our mission – showing God’s love and mercy by fighting to end hunger and help those in need – accomplished.
We Care You Drive
Today and this weekend is WE CARE TOY DRIVE at St. Paul Westlake Lutheran Church and School, 27993 Detroit Road. Therefore, drop your new and unwrapped toys off at the truck in the front parking lot from 10 am to 4 pm for Building Hope in the City’s families.
12th Annual Underwear and Sock Drive
The Twelfth Annual Underwear and Sock Drive for the clients of Redeemer Hunger and Crisis Center also wraps up this weekend. We thank all for their support of this very necessary Drive as children keep growing…We are also grateful for all the recent diaper donations.
