New: THRIVENT ACTION TEAM EVENT

SPL Hunger Warriors invite you and your friends to join in assisting the 56 residents of Madison Commons Group Home at 8001 Madison Avenue in Cleveland to enhance their quality of living by providing special Thanksgiving care bags. These precious bags will contain personal care products, all types of snacks, and encouraging Christian literature. This Madison Commons Group Home provides homes for people who have experienced homelessness. By creating these precious bags for Madison Commons Group Home residents, we are following Jesus Command, “Love your neighbor as yourself” Mark 12:31 (NIV).

The special caring bags will include toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, shampoo, deodorant, soap, cookie packs, apples, tangelos, cracker packs, candy, chips & pretzel snack bags, granola bars, pudding, applesauce, fruit snacks, Rice Krispie treats, and Christian literature that builds a stronger faith.

Bring your donations to St. Paul Lutheran Church at 27993 Detroit Road in Westlake or drop off at the Levtzow’s garage (Southwest corner of Dover Center & Bassett Roads – 2454 Dover Center with driveway off Bassett). We hope to gather items on or before Monday, November 11. Thank you for joining us in this exciting Service Thrivent Action Team Event.

3 Additional Thrivent Action Team Events

SPL Hunger Warriors are blessed to have three additional THRIVENT ACTION TEAM EVENTS in the month of November. These include St. Paul Lutheran’s amazing Underwear and Sock Drive for Redeemer Hunger & Crisis Center on W. 30th St. in Cleveland which ends the first week in December so that shopping for missing sizes can be done with Thrivent dollars.

In addition, a Thrivent Thanksgiving Food Drive for Immanuel Lutheran Neighborhood Food Program on Scranton Road in Cleveland is being held during the first week of November. Immanuel needs cereal, variety packs of oatmeal, wide noodles, cans of stew, vegetables, peaches, SPAM, chicken breasts, corned beef, and jars of peanut butter and grape jam.

The third additional THRIVENT ACTION TEAM EVENT is the Thanksgiving/Christmas gathering of cookies, apples, crackers, candy, chip snack bags, granola bars, fruits and gifts for Samuel L. Felton Jr. Valor Home Veteran residents in Lorain.

10  “and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.
11  The Lord will guide you always;
He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.” God’s Blessings Never Cease!
