Servant Saturday

Looking forward to seeing you on Servant Saturday, October 4 around 9 am in the STEM Lab classroom for Mary’s Craft Session. We will be doing cards for veterans and crafts for Trunk & Treat boxes and our veteran cards until noon. Plan to help Mary & Chico Bless Others with your Wonderful Jesus’ Love.

Trials for Hope

We have a new request for the fourth Monday meal done by Trials For Hope. We need donations of toilet paper. Watch for the sales on toilet paper and drop off your donations on the SPL Hunger Warriors/Hunger Ministry/ Mary’s Food Friends shelves outside the Narthex or Activity Center or at the Levtzow garage at 2454 Dover Center (the Southwest corner driveway off Bassett Road). Thank you very much for your assistance. Remember, we can always use snacks cookies, chips, nutrition bars, for special bags for Our Family Home Center in East Cleveland and Immanual Lutheran Neighborhood Food Program on Scranton Road in Cleveland.

Used Books

Remember to drop off new or gently used books for infants through age 13 by the happy Bookworm Wormy near the SPL Hunger Warriors/Hunger Ministry Shelving through October 12 to be part of our Redeemer Epiphany Party’s 300 Boxes for the children of Redeemer Lutheran Hunger and Crisis Center Clients and Volunteers in 2026.

Faithful Kids

Faithful Kids (service elective at St. Paul Luheran School) members have been working in Mary’s Hunger Ministry Garden this fall. With the help of church members, they turned it into a living classroom that taught students about the economic benefits, environmental factors, and sustainability of a garden. Students were also surprised to learn the many ways one can cook eggplant, peppers, and squash! Faithful Kids have helped pick and wash a total of 610 vegetables this school year. This amount is only part of the over 5,000 vegetables that have already been donated to Redeemer Hunger and Crisis Center! If you are looking for an opportunity to serve, join us on SERVANT SATURDAY. One of the tasks will be taking down the garden fence so nature can enjoy the remnants and prepare us for next season.

October Updates

In October, SPL Hunger Warriors will be helping the Food Programs of Royal Redeemer, Zion Painesville, and Christians In Action in Olmsted Falls, besides providing half the cost of the Lakewood Church of Ascension Community Meal on the second Thursday and funds for making sandwiches for East Cleveland’s Our Family Home Center’s seniors and children.

Community of Goodness

Mary and Chico are so grateful for all the monthly COG – Community Of Goodness – monthly 6 items or more donations. You are the secret blessing that shares the LOVE of Jesus so profoundly and so willingly. One person cannot easily help so many, but St. Paul Lutheran Church and School united can and does make a super caring difference.

Underwear & Sock Donations

We are always very thankful for your donations of Underwear & Socks for our annual assisting of Redeemer Hunger & Crisis Center in supplying underwear and socks for their clients. This Drive ends the first week in December, so keep your eyes focused on any and all sales of underwear and socks as the new Fall and holiday clothing appears in stores.

Donate Food

St. Paul Lutheran Hunger Warriors still need Food Donations throughout the summer months; so, let us all try to bring one or two food items when we are able to attend Church this summer: peanut butter, GRAPE JAM, Stew, Corned Beef, WIDE NOODLES, tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, canned vegetables, CANNED SLICED PEACHES, CEREAL, oatmeal variety packs, SPAM, canned Chicken Breast, RAMEN NOODLES, snacks for children. We need the above food items by Thursday, June 20, for the Immanuel Hunger Program Delivery. Bless you for putting the needs of others as a priority.
