08-22-25 Update from Mary

Friday, August 22, 2025

Please attend the Sunday, September 7, Bach, Bacharach, & Friends Concert in the Sanctuary at 2 p.m. with vocalist Julie Myers-Pruchenski and Matt Ginter on the piano and organ. The Free-will offering will bless Hunger Ministry. St. Paul Lutheran Hunger Warriors are thrilled to be the recipients of this wonderful God-dedicated Performance.

The 60 residents of Madison Commons Group Home at 8001 Madison Avenue in Cleveland received their special Thrivent Action Team Care Bags containing personal care products, all types of snacks, and encouraging Christian literature this week. They were thrilled beyond belief that St. Paul Lutheran Church members and friends cared so much to create special bags of love and joy for them. These 60 Madison Commons Group Home residents deeply THANK YOU.

Up-coming Hunger Warriors projects include our gathering of bags of snack items for Our Family Home Center in East Cleveland, gathering of pull-top cans of spaghetti-O’s and other similar canned foods along with Ramen Noodles for Trials For Hope, & gathering of crackers and cookies for the Hunger Ministry recipients at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Your fantastic cookies and snack donations are deeply appreciated.

Labor-day weekend starts our Thrivent Action Team Underwear & Sock Drive for Redeemer Hunger & Crises Center that runs until the first week in December. Your donations for this drive as you search for all those special clothing sales are strongly appreciated. Help in the SPIRIT of Anita Fjeldstad and Eunice Langner fill the Hunger Warriors’ Underwear and Sock Containers on the Hunger Shelving outside our worship areas.

Mary’s Hunger Garden has been richly blessed this year due to Ken Krauss’ fantastic animal control methods and God’s Love to help provide for people in need. We can still use volunteer pickers of God’s crop. Let Ken Krauss (440-899-1025) know if you can assist in picking.

Please tell Mary & Chico know if you can become a 6 can monthly donator of cans of corned beef, SPAM, Chicken Breasts, and jars of grape jam as part of our Community Of Goodness (COG) Team efforts. Thank you again for all the you do. In addition, Hunger Warriors can use prayer warriors that God will find helpers for Mary & Chico to take over some of the challenges of assisting 23 Hunger Programs across Northeast Ohio from Lorain to Painesville. Bless your week as you WALK WITH JESUS, Mary &Chico
