Update from Michael Sinn

On Thursday, Michael Sinn, Director of Children’s & Youth Ministry at St. Paul, called to share the news of the generosity of the Vacation Bible School Children & Staff in gathering hundreds of food items for Hunger Ministry during their week of True North lessons centering on no matter what one feels – wonder, alone, powerless, hopeless, helpless – one can always TRUST JESUS… Trusting Jesus is what each person needs to emphasize every day. The children met adventuresome animals of the True North – Ponder, Clawdia, Kody, Earnest, Bruce – to learn more about always trusting Jesus. Their kindness and servant dedicated attitude are deeply appreciated. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

July Items Needed

Remember during July, Hunger Ministry/SPL Hunger Warriors is collecting peanut butter, grape jam, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, shampoo, deodorant, soap, cookie packs, apples, cracker packs, candy, chips & pretzel snack bags, granola bars, Rice Krispie treats, and Christian literature for residents of the Madison Commons Group Home at 8001 Madison Avenue in Cleveland. Bring your donations to St. Paul Lutheran Church at 27993 Detroit Road in Westlake or drop off at the Levtzow’s garage (Southwest corner of Dover Center & Bassett Roads – 2454 Dover Center with driveway off Bassett). Thank you for joining us in this exciting Thrivent Action Team Event.

Trails For Hope

In addition, Trials For Hope is having an extra Christmas in July Drive to gather canned meats like SPAM, Brookdale Luncheon Meat, tuna, and chicken breasts. What a wonderful idea to give extra meat products in July to people in need.

Thank you!

Of course, Mary & Chico are so very grateful for your food donations even if out-of-date. Simply make a note on your bag about having out-of-date food inside, and we will get it to people…Bless your week as you pray for SPL Hunger Warriors to be able to continually meet the needs of each food program we serve…This week may we recall God’s Words from Proverbs 19:21 (NIV), “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
