During July and August, SPL Hunger Warriors will be having a Thrivent Action Team event to gather items for the 56 residents of Madison Commons Group Home at 8001 Madison Avenue in Cleveland to enhance their quality of living by providing special care bags. These precious bags will contain personal care products, all types of snacks, and encouraging Christian literature.

This Madison Commons Group Home provides homes for people who have experienced homelessness. By creating these precious bags for Madison Commons Group Home residents, we are following Jesus Command, “Love your neighbor as yourself” Mark 12:31 (NIV). The Action Team will gather items in July to give to the residents in August.

During the summer, there are some dynamic sales. Drug Mart has recently had their Chips Ahoy cookies with $2 off each package. Always check the sales prices when you shop. The July 4 sales are coming up soon. Mark’s have their Snack Chip boxes marked down for holiday purchases. Looking for bargains to donate is great fun for Hunger Warriors, especially in the chip and cookie snack aisles.

St. Paul Lutheran Hunger Warriors still need Food Donations throughout the summer months; so, let us all try to bring one or two food items when we are able to attend Church this summer: peanut butter, GRAPE JAM, Stew, Corned Beef, WIDE NOODLES, tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, canned vegetables, CANNED SLICED PEACHES, CEREAL, oatmeal variety packs, SPAM, canned Chicken Breast, RAMEN NOODLES, snacks for children. We need the above food items by Thursday, June 20, for the Immanuel Hunger Program Delivery. Bless you for putting the needs of others as a priority.

• December – Christ/Our Savior, & 300 each Center (Which Means that we need $7900 in December)
