Community of Goodness
We really need more COG – Community of Goodness members that donate 6 items of food each month, especially needed are cans of corned Beef, bags of wide Noodles, cans of sliced Peaches, cans of Stew, and jars of Grape Jam/Jelly. Our April Need is to have all food donations in by midnight Thursday April 10 so that these items can be in Immanuel’s Easter Food Bags for their neighborhood.
Help Mary & Chico
People, NOW is the time to assist Mary & Chico in making a Positive Difference in our communities. Please consider getting involved by sharing items every home has and snacks described in the next two paragraphs.
SPL Hunger Warriors love helping others and thinking up new ways to make people feel special…Today, we will explain our cookie/cracker program…Each month, three or four Hunger Warriors donate cookies and/or crackers to be re-packaged into snack bags for Scranton Road Immanuel Lutheran Church’s Food Distribution Day and for the programs that Our Family Home Center creates for Seniors and Children…Snacks provide instant energy. Recently, we received turtle snacks box with a small cup inside to measure out the perfect amount of snacks to put in a snack bag. We have always re-bagged FISH snack donations to maximize the JOY of snacking. Therefore, one may enjoy a store’s cookie and snack aisle to shop for treats for others. Another great idea for COG – Community of Goodness – donations. Who would think about the JOY a few cookies or a package of flavored crackers can provide. Enjoy shopping your favorite snack for others
Perhaps you are not aware of Hunger Warriors card and plastic container programs. We make card packets of new cards for the clients of the Redeemer Hunger & Crisis Center during the year and at Christmas. Students at St. Paul Lutheran School also use the pictures from used cards to create placemats for the Redeemer Clients. We also use new cards to mail in our Cards For Others Program. In addition, cleaned-up plastic containers are also bagged and sent to Redeemer Hunger & Crisis Center for clients to use…Styrofoam containers are used to create Halloween gift packages for Trunk & Treat in October…Therefore, clean-out your closets and storage areas for others.
Chico and Mary’s HEARTS are THANKING God Daily for your FAITHFULNESS in giving of your Time, Talents, and Treasures to assist SPL Hunger Warriors/Hunger Ministry/Mary’s Food Friends in LOVING “your neighbor as yourself” Mark 12:31 found in the New King James Translation.
